68：ビリヤード台　　　-A carom billiards table-

ロビー脇スペースにある四つ球のビリヤード台。

こちらの台は、よく見るとポケット（穴）がありません。
おそらく「キャロム」と呼ばれるゲームが主流だった頃のもので、「四つ球」という日本では古くから親しまれてきた種目の台です。
所蔵の記録写真には、ポケットがついた台の写ったものもございますが、現在はこの一台のみが残されています。
（最後の写真は明治期のものと思われます）
古くから館内のレクリエーションの一つとして楽しまれていました。


In the corner of our lobby, you'll find a carom billiards table.

If you look closely, you'll notice it has no pockets. This table is likely from an era when carom was the dominant game, specifically for four-ball, a type of billiards that has long been popular in Japan.
While some of our archival photos show tables with pockets, this is the only one that remains today. (The last photo in our collection is believed to be from the Meiji era.)
Billiards has long been a cherished form of recreation for our guests.
